Over the last 9 months I had the pleasure of walking alongside one of my best friends as she prepared for motherhood. Through all the anticipation and dreaming, the preparing and praying on March 12th their sweet baby girl entered the world. Emmalyn Kate came blazing into the world with her own plans in mind.
Since Emma was breached, Tim and Chelsea had a scheduled c-section over a week away, when Chelsea went in for a normal procedure. While in the hospital, Emmalyn made it known she did not want to wait that long to make her appearance. After Emmalyn's heartrate dropped for the second time during Chelsea's time at the hospital, her doctors called for an emergency C-section. Tim and Chelsea were prepped for surgery and 30 minutes later Emmalyn Kate Gundion made her happy, yet somewhat dramatic entrance into the world.
Weighing in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces and 20 inches long, Emmalyn Kate had brought nothing but smiles, joy and happyness into the lives of those who know her and her parents. I have had the privilege of watching Tim and Chelsea transform from newlyweds to expectant parents to parents of a beautiful baby girl and through each step it has been clear that the Lord is working in them and through them. My prayer has been, and will continue to be, that Tim and Chelsea hold fast to the Lord, that they would find rest and comfort in Him, and that they would point their beautiful daughter to the King and that Emmalyn would come to know our Lord and Savior and follow him all the days of her life.
Tim and Chelsea, know that you are loved and you are a great example to those around you. Continue pressing on and continue striving toward the Lord each day.
